Hagi-yaki is known for its fine crackle patterns called kan-nyū. Over time, these lines absorb moisture and deepen in colour, a unique change called “Hagi no Nanabake”. Each piece is one of a kind, with natural variations in colour and texture that reveal the true charm of Hagi ware.
With over 400 years of history, this tradition has been carefully passed down and nurtured through generations.

Care Instructions
- Wash with dish soap before first use.
- Before use, soak in water so the pottery absorbs moisture. This helps prevent stains.
- Microwave not recommended.
- Dishwasher: place carefully. Hagi ware is soft and may chip.
- Dry completely before storing to avoid mould or smell.
- Please use a table mat to prevent scratches.
