The TAKAYAMA CHASEN (matcha bamboo whisk) is a traditional craft from Takayama, Nara Prefecture, Japan. For over 500 years, skilled artisans, known as chasen-shi, have carefully handcrafted these whisks. The art of chasen-making has been passed down through generations, and today, only about 15 master chasen-shi remain who can create this authentic Takayama Chasen.
KUROCHIKU refers to black bamboo.
SHIN describes whisks with tips that are not curled.
60 prongs
This special chasen easily creates fine foam, which is essential for a perfect matcha experience, and is known for its durability and long-lasting quality.
Why is creating fine foam so important?
Fine foam traps the amazing flavour of matcha and enhances its aroma when you sip. It also makes the matcha creamier and more visually appealing.
CARE NOTE
